Social tariff
A social tariff is a discounted broadband (sometimes mobile) deal for people on certain benefits—eligibility and availability vary by provider and change over time.
Why it matters
It is one of the main regulated routes to cheaper connectivity for qualifying households; you still need to check who offers what and how to apply.
Example in UK broadband
Someone on Universal Credit might check provider pages for a social tariff, compare with a standard deal, and use One Touch Switch if moving—rules and prices are set by providers within the policy frame.
